A friend of many people and local visitor of the touge had set up a small event for a handful of people to attend. Mainly to gather friends and have a blast before the un-drivable snow covered roads of winter came. However, this event also marked his last day or night on the mountains with a specific car.
That car, a big body sedan, a Crown, and with various splashes of personal touches, lately had became quite popular on the internet and in magazines.
But it was time for it to go.
Previously I made my trip up to the mountains with friends from Chiba, Team R O O K I E S. This time was different, this time I was riding with Team LowBrain.
I knew they had been to other touges and thought it might be cool to invite them. But without my knowing they had already planned on going before I had invited them. Oh well, everything turned out pretty much spot on.
After meeting up with the rest of the pack outside of Tokyo at a small truck stop in Saitama I changed positions to driver and we moved out in a train of cars on the low roads. (roads that where toll isn’t required) For about 2 and half hours we blasted down the road at about 140 and then suddenly a red light and we would all stop. The owner of the C34, Takuya took a rest while I drove until everyone pulled into a gas station before the final climb into the mountains. Into the mountains we went, I was back in the passenger seat and grabbed a hold of my camera. Snagged a few shots on the way there and then sat back and enjoyed the rest of the bumpy ride.Everyone pulled into the small parking lot and got to work on their plates and wheels, changing in drift tires and then sipping hot coffee.
