After a while the crispy fall air had bitten hard into my bare hands and I jumped into the Laurel for a quick reheat. Meanwhile some of the newer guys had a veteran show them the course before everyone set out to drift. Mind you, there were already people drifting. The screams of burning tires was reverberating through the steep mountains and I could see the flickering of headlights amongst the foliage above us. It was pretty cool. Continue reading
A friend of many people and local visitor of the touge had set up a small event for a handful of people to attend. Mainly to gather friends and have a blast before the un-drivable snow covered roads of winter came. However, this event also marked his last day or night on the mountains with a specific car.
That car, a big body sedan, a Crown, and with various splashes of personal touches, lately had became quite popular on the internet and in magazines.
Part 2 of the exciting small get together with everyone. As the day progressed the rain stopped and the track dried up pretty fast and everyone lost their fear of the incredible slippery zones and went all out. A good way to finish the day. A few weeks back, in between preparing for final exams and speeches, I slipped out of my room and hopped on a train bound for Chiba. There was a typhoon rolling in and I was delayed but it didn’t matter. Here is part 1 of the journey that I ran through trying not to get wet out at Minami Chiba. This time I didn’t have much to say and felt it better to let the pictures explain.
